Winter is a good time to read. For a clinician or a technician, the useful reading is not a novel. It is the work that changes how a restoration is planned, bonded and finished.
Staying with current research is how a laboratory:
- picks up techniques, materials and tools worth testing
- keeps treatments aligned with what actually holds
- decides products and workflows with a reason, not a habit

One source we return to is Professor Markus Blatz, University of Pennsylvania. His published work on adhesive technique and material selection is the kind of reading that belongs next to a case, not only in a journal club.
He also posts clinical cases and chairside notes on Instagram as @profmarkusblatz.
Cosmodent reads this literature because the mill and the furnace should follow a plan that still holds when the paper is a year old. Partnering with the laboratory should mean the case is made by people who still open the studies.
If you want a place to start this winter, start with Blatz and the adhesive literature. We are here when the case has to turn that reading into a restoration.
